This is a first evaluation version of iForth for Darwin/OSX.

The applications and files in this folder are self-contained, and can be placed as a unit anywhere you'd like on your disk. In other words, don't go moving the applications or files out of the iForth-4.06-darwin-eval folder, but you can put the folder in a location you find convenient.

The Darwin evaluation folder contains a subset of the files included in the general iForth evaluation distribution. Most things have been included (eg all the files in include/ and examples/), but at some point, it would be worth your while to see what else is available. They can be moved into the included (empty) folders.

The i32 and i64 applications are simply command files that run a Unix shell, set up an environment for iForth and launch iForth in Terminal.app. Although not true Cocoa applications, they can be dragged to the dock, etc. for convenience in an OSX system. Because the applications expect to find include and configuration folders right next to them, again, please keep the organization of the evaluation folder intact.

For most questions about iForth, please email its author, Marcel Hendrix. If you have questions pertaining to this Darwin/OSX evaluation version, you can contact me, Charles Turner at <vze26m98@optoline.net>

The file IFORTH3264 is a general introduction to the iForth December 2010 release, and is duplicated in the main distribution.

Happy Forthing!

Charles
